Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth Empty Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth

~♥ Welcome to the raid, kupo! Here is some information you need to know before you start posting. There is a limit to the number of times a character can post. This is so a fight won't go on and on, kupo. For these particular raids the limit is 10. On the last post, characters will need to prepare themselves for the end of the battle whether that be by retreating, setting up final defenses, sacrifices, etc. A warning will be given on the last post to remind you. That's all and have fun, kupo! ♥~

Stomp after oppressive stomp of the tree trunk limbs belonging to the Behemoth sound low and steady. The ground beneath those in Twilight Town rumbles from the sheer weight being thrown around by the massive monster, causing the townsfolk to move about in a panic. They’d heard news that a heartless had taken to their streets, but they had no idea the sheer size of the creature until many had the unfortunate circumstance to see it.

Clawed toes over an indigo hide, the large, lumbering animal held little concern for the surrounding structures, bringing them down simply by moving too close. The following shockwaves with each stomp is more than enough to send what were once proud buildings down into nothing but broken concrete, brick, and wood. During its slow movements, the Behemoth manages to misstep, causing it to stumble. The colossal heartless falls on its side, taking out a city block upon landing. Any unfortunate enough to be caught in its path were killed instantly, left a bloody stain on the monster’s body.

Once the lumbering heartless gets back to its feet, it continues its nonchalant path through the city square. The only thing that seems to catch the big guy’s attention is the clocktower, a proud monument to their ingenuity. With no real goal or path in mind, the shining light of twilight that reflects off the surface of the clock’s face is what sets the beast in motion. Trams are flung from their tracks, cars are crushed without so much as a second thought.

Just by existing, the Behemoth manages to cause destruction and death in whichever path it decides to travel, regardless of whether it’s aware of it or not. The local police attempt to keep a perimeter set up on the outskirts of the town, but with the heartless horde suddenly springing up to join the monolith of a monster, the chances of survivors escaping is rapidly dropping. Without their world leader to provide support, many will lose their lives on this day of perpetual twilight.

This huge, simple heartless may level the city in its absent minded rampage

Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth Empty Re: Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth

“You’d think there’d be more screaming. But from up here…” Breathing in the air as it breezed on by, Destinie exhaled her words. “...you can’t hear a thing.”

“Sorry to break your peace, but we’ve a job to do.” Stepping up to the ledge of the clocktower and looking towards the slow approaching heartless, Fayt was straight-faced and calm. The hysteria caused by the heartless onslaught was visible from around every corner.

“Yeah, I know, but-”

“They’ll be fine. Radiant Garden will be fine. Father wouldn’t let it crumble, and Mother sounded as though she had a sneaking suspicion. We need to focus on our task, to ensure that this world will be-”

“Fine? Well, we can hope to at least spare it from utter destruction.”

Fayt stood up straight, cocking is pistols and then holstering one. “We’ll do nothing if we remain here.”

Like that, the twins had descended the tower, falling off it’s high ledge and began their plummet to the ground. Before having fallen too far, Fayt reached a hand out to his sister’s, gripping it tightly. The other was directed to the surface of the clocktower’s brick wall, to which the two had broke their fall. Fayt used a gravitational push to redirect their momentum. Destinie had shifted their plane of gravity so that, rather than falling down, they were falling to what would appear to be the side. Releasing the others’ hand, they’d reach to their weapons.
The young lady charged her axes with a dense electricity, taking the lead in their fall. Sparks flew from the metal she wielded, which tingled her body. Her eyes were focused solely on the monster in front of her.

The young man readied his pistols, took aim, and fired all twelve rounds at the Behemoth. He’d aim half at its eyes, and the rest at its front legs. Fayt wanted to test just how tough this opponent was going to be before they touched down.

Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth Empty Re: Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth

With a lazy turn of its head, after the duo entered its line of sensing, the Behemoth barely paid them any mind. That is, until an incessant noise rings from above its head. It believes it’ll find only more objects, like the buildings, blocking its view. Instead, it is greeted with a face full of horribly annoying stings. The behemoth sputters before growling and shaking its head. The shots Fayt’s weapon unleashes upon its legs do nothing more than irritate the beast, as though it were being assaulted by a few angry bees. While no real damage was sustained from Fayt’s shots, he certainly got a reaction. The angry beast looks in the direction the bullets came from to find a blinding surge of crackling energy making its way to him.

It’d stand, peering at Destinie, for a few moments before the lightning infused axes made their mark upon the Behemoth. A small shockwave erupts from the sides of the behemoth upon contact, sending a small gust of wind blowing around. However, not only did Destinie’s lightning have no effect, but her own physical blow barely moved the Behemoth an inch. The four-legged creature of darkness unleashes a deafening roar aimed solely for the pair of fighters, sending smoke as thick and black as the night sky their way.

Two small creatures, who would dare interrupt its frolic through Twilight Town, will pay. The smoke quickly spreads from the ravenous maw of the beast, encompassing the nearby city streets and spreading its influence to the upper levels.

Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth Empty Re: Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth

Post by Destinie Darkson Mon Sep 05, 2016 3:51 pm

With the beast having little reaction to them at first, Destinie was feeling quite confident that the Behemoth wasn’t going to be much of a threat. She was sorely mistaken. Her brother was a little more aware of the situation. He seen how little damage that normal ammo had on its hide, and grew a fair share more cautious.

Fayt’s expression grew more serious as that sparking energy made its way for him. This was going to hurt. Raising the barrel of one of his pistols, the young man used it as a lightning rod and let the electricity course through him. He’d grunt in pain as it numbed pain, though managed to quickly raise his second pistol toward the other direction and forced it out the barrel. A deep gasp escaped Fayt’s lips, and he’d land a little less than gracefully onto a nearby building.

“Forget the thunder, Des!” He called out to his sister, picking himself up. But he was a hair to late.

Destinie’s axes made contact with the heartless, and the shockwave that blew past Fayt was the result. The confident grin the girl wore faltered then and there as she registered what it was that her brother had said. “But the thunder is half our shtick!” She called out, disgruntled by the fact that her attack had barely left a scratch on the heartless.

Its roar was enough to leave their ears ringing. Pushing off of the Behemoth, Destinie was in time to see a foul smoke pouring from its maw. That inky blackness left an unsettling feeling in Fayt’s stomach, the stench of darkness overpowering his nostrils. As his sister landed beside him, Fayt would have grabbed his sister by the arm and pulled her off, leaping off towards a higher reaching building further off.

“H-Hey! What gives?”

Fayt’s answer was as simple as pointing a finger at the smoke. “Since when has anything that dark, pouring from the mouth of a beast, been a good thing? Remember the Marlboros?” He’d ask in a dry tone. Destinie grumbled in response, shivering at the memory. But her brother did have a fair point. In both their experiences, black smoke was no bueno.

“So what now?”

“We find a weakness.”

Holding out a hand, Fayt would incite his Positive Force aura. This weightless feeling created from it allowed the two to levitate into the air. It was like they were soaring, high above the dense smoke which likely afflicted many of the people that were trying to escape from the heartless. Whatever fate that was, it was unfortunate. Fayt’s eyes scanned analyzed the beast from head to toe. Thick, nigh impenetrable hide. Piercing it was unlikely. The effect of Destinie’s charged axes had no effect. It was probably that it had some form of resistance to the elements, as do most who wield magic have a resistance to what they’re most proficient in. But what? What was this monstrosity’s weakness?

Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth Empty Re: Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth

This will be the final boss post, kupo. The Heartless have attained victory. You will be allowed one post to respond. Remember do not continue to fight a hopeless battle. To do so will result in death, but that is up to you. Your fate is in your hands. Sometimes the best tactic is to retreat, Kupo.

The Heartless in Twilight Town were gaining the upper hand, overwhelming armies and heroes alike with endless numbers. The more they fought the harder the battle seemed to be. It appeared that the world basked in an eternal dusk would soon fall to the darkness, but suddenly they stopped. Every Heartless, from the minions to their powerful leaders stood frozen for a brief moment. Corridors of darkness began to open all over the world, and the Heartless began to retreat. But why? That question was answered by gazing into the portals. The Land of Dragons and Wonderland were being torn asunder. They were being summoned to converge on this final assault. The other worlds could wait. This was a celebration that all the Heartless deserved to be a part of. The last of the Heartless vanished, but this was no victory. Twilight Town had suffered so much destruction. The buildings could always be rebuilt, but the loss of life and sense of security… it was gone. The survivors did not know where to start, and as they gazed up into the sky, two faint stars blinked out.

Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth Empty Re: Twilight Town Raid: The Lumbering Behemoth

Post by Fayt Fri Oct 21, 2016 12:40 am

There was a short while where Fayt stood and studied the mammoth heartless that rampaged through the streets of Twilight Town. It seemed that no matter what he tried, he just couldn’t quite find the trick that would bring about its end. It had destroyed enough of the world, and just when he had devised a new tactic, it seemed as though the Behemoth had felt the same.

It stood still for a spell, no longer advancing its sluggish advance throughout the place. When it stirred back into motion, not just it, but all heartless began to retreat via Corridors of Darkness that lead to one of two places, from what one could tell. This was both a moment of relief and a moment of concern. Wherever those heartless were going, it spelled disaster.

Looking around at the utter destruction that surrounded them, Destinie sighed out. “Fayt, we-”

“We did all that we could. Consider this a stroke of luck, Des, and be thankful that it stopped when it did.”

“I-” The young lady began, only to stop short and nod. “Alright. Let’s go see what we can do to help.”

Fayt hummed in agreement as he nodded his head and began to traverse the streets and what remain of the structures. The carnage was nauseating, but to be expected. Thankfully, evacuations were made and some lives were spared. All the time and effort that their Aunt Marigold had put into restoring the world seemed to have been for naught. Maybe this world just had some really shitty luck. And with a currently missing Mayor, it seemed as though it was up to the Darksons to help rebuild once again. First things first, they needed to regroup and figure out what the hell was going on.

Above them, not one, but two stars blinked out of the twilight sky. Gazing upon them in their final moments, Fayt took a moment for a silent prayer that one day, those worlds would return to them safe and sound.
