He sat on the log next to the fire pit behind his house, where his children along with the kids that called him uncle once played. His only companions at the moment in time, was the waves and the lone palm tree along with the wind that every once in awhile blew. He was still stung from earlier and despite all the attacks and beatings he had taken in his life...this hurt a heck of a lot more then all those beatings put together. He had just come home about an hour ago, earlier he was out with Shirou gathering camping supplies in Daybreak town. It was the Underlord's idea that they take both their families out on a camping trip in hopes of growing better bonds with their children, well better then what they already had with their legacy. Veara was out for at least for a good couple hours away from the island. He had gone shopping with his friend, had lunch with him and in general simply enjoyed his time with him. Not very often had he seen the Underlord so even though soon they were to go camping with one another, he took his time and enjoyed the time that he had that day spending it with him. It wasn't until the lamp posts had turned on over in Day Break Town had he decided to head home.
When he ported himself home he appeared in front of his house, walking up the gravel path that was in front of his home. The inside of his house dark and the front light in front of his home was on so he assumed no one was there. Though there was someone sitting on his porch. A girl with bleach blonde dreadlocks simply sat on his porch underneath the light her face in her palms. Veara was naturally happy to see the girl, she being the daughter of Natalia and Steven Samson, Kaitlin Samson, not to mention the girl who helped him at his ice cream shack like her parents did long ago around this age. He called out to the girl and at first she didn't look up. Though after walking up to her he could tell she was visibly shaken. Veara wasn't quite sure of what to make of her until he went to touch her shoulder and she moved away from him. He asked her what was wrong and she slapped his hand away from her. She looked up at him sitting on the porch she analyzed the bags he had next to him that now sat on the gravel path. Veara simply looked down at the girl and once again asked what was wrong an was there anything he could do to help. The response he received was one that he didn't expect at least...not here.
"The man of the world wants to help, where were you hour's ago. Whe- when we all needed you?" She asked her tears and frustration could be heard building in her voice. Veara raised an eyebrow thinking she was being dramatic as she sometimes tended to be however this time something due to her earlier action's something told him this was far different. Finally he simply asked her what had happened earlier. Though after he asked this Kaitlin turned her head to the gravel road. The anger was clearly growing though the cause was still unknown- "People died today. On our island's people died today. One was pronounced missing, however there saying he's most likely dead as well. Considering his family was kil- ...killed. A mother and son were murdered here, on our islands. A freak storm appeared out of nowhere came not and damaged the coastal sides on the other side of the island near the fishers market, possibly putting a lot of people out of jobs. Ruining homes too" She spoke with diction that terribly hid sorrow and anger. She balled her fists as tight as she could, staring up at the man. She was only a mere 5'2 compared to the 6'1 man, however Veara in this case was shocked from the news he had just heard.
He couldn't even offer words, he he was simply wide eyed in disbelief. People died... people were brutally murdered here....that hadn't happened in over 22 years. Lives being taken on the island's it was simply something unheard of....and for poor Kaitlin here someone who never even experienced an event similar to this...It was obvious she wasn't taking it in the best of ways. "My only question for you is where-" At that moment she happened to once again look down at the gravel path though for the first time she took notice of the bag's on the ground next to Veara. She crouched down in front of him and grabbed the bags pulled them towards her, she ripped out the first box which was simply a to go box from a restaurant. She threw it too the side and the dinner he had bought for his spouse was now caked against the sand. She quickly pulled another item out and this time she found one of those large tents that meant to fit multiple people and once again she threw it onto the sand and the sound of the materials inside the box could be heard jangling about within. She stood up and before Veara could even spoke one word in his defense-
'Smack'
Was the only sound when her hand collided with his face, she slapped her godfather as hard as she possibly could with everything she had in her small body. The girl's eyes widened and she quickly held her hand in pain. It felt as though she had just slapped solid steel. With Kaitlin now in both pain and distress before him he tried to reach out a hand to her to at least heal the girl, however she immediately jerked back and glared at him. "This whole ti- time you, you were out on another world. Not even fighting or doing something important...you were just goofing off....is that all you ever do?" She asked him and Veara was visibly stun by her question his eyes obviously looked around as he searched for an answer. Though she didn't wait for him to find one. "My hand is in actual pain....it feels like I may have actually cracked something, that's how tough you are.....and yet people are dead. Your strong enough to take out mountains my parent's always told me, but people are dead. WE CALL YOU the Island Champion, but people are dead and the island is messed up! When are you gonna quit playing around. YOU'RE the one who I- WE LOOK TOWARDS! If all your gonna do is serve ice cream and be a child then let the rest of us know. So we can get an actual adult to take care of the islands. Someone who will be there when we need them and not out buying a tent!" The girl by the end was screaming at him and she took off not letting him get one word in for any type of defense or rebuttal. Holding her hand in pain and with tears streaming down her face, Kaitlin took off running down the small gravel path that led to Veara's house and down the street back to her own home.
Soon after she left Veara used that dagger this world itself gave him to once again summon the clones of himself. Without a word they left and they all ran down to survey the damage and quickly begin the clean up process. Veara on the other hand was simply staring at the sky for a moment or so, before he eventually lumbered around his house and sat on the log in darkness, the moon illuminating the backyard. Veara now alone with his thoughts and a cheek that stung stared out at the ocean. Her words were cold...but accurate, he was a child. A child who had been granted immense strength and other abilities through his mother, his own sister in giving up her life awoken his final ability which only had to be used once so far in his life. Everything he had was gifted through others, be it his family, his powers, his latent abilities, etc. It was all given to him, and because of this he promised the man who had raised him that he would always defend the island's. An that he wouldn't disappoint him or the people of the islands, where was that promise now? People had died, a sudden tropical storm had destroyed homes and possibly the occupation's of many. The promise he made to his elder had been failed, and the little girl who looked up to him since she was quite young now felt betrayed her own feelings. What would his children think when they learn of this, people died on their home and their supposed 'Island champion' of a father wasn't on the scene or even on the case. He was gone, laughing with a friend and buying item's for a camping trip. The man felt great shame as he gripped his head....when would he grow up? When was he going to get it through his thick skull that he isn't allowed to be normal, he has to be ready to defend this place. In the past he followed his elders words..rather then using a wish to find his mother, he gave up the only chance he thought possible to find her and instead focused on his home. Wishing for a relic that would keep all heartless away, and indeed the relic did its job, ensuring safety for the islanders. Though it seems as though he forgot that people were just as bad..that somebodies were capable of unspeakable act's too. If his elder were here now.....Veara could only imagine the shame he'd feel, his elder was right all along. He didn't deserve the power that he had, he did nothing to earn it. So why was it given to him? Why should he have all this power, should one man even be capable of wielding all this power...he wasn't a man, he was a god. A sorry one at that, while his grandmother had an entire dimension, and his mother a universe, that they kept safe and sound. What did he have? One lone world and even that he couldn't even handle, people dying underneath his care.
Standing up from the log in frustration he rustled his hair this way and that and pulled on his orange tank-top ripping the fabric. What was he doing here? Why wasn't he with his clones helping with repair's? Why was he sitting here feeling sorry for himself as if it was his own family whose lives were taken. Honestly, he didn't know. He couldn't tell you even if you asked him and screamed in his face to get going and help. Honestly he expected his elder to appear out of the darkness behind the tree and come and scold him. He felt as though that's what he deserved. To be told that the death's and destruction on his island today were his own fault....just like his sister.
Veara, The man of the world.
Veara, The Island champion
Veara, The god.
Veara, The Fool
Veara, The Monster
His mind clicked back to that word and the man quick knelt onto the sand and banged his head against the sandy beach floor, trying to get that word out of his head. The word his elder would call him when he felt as though he misbehaved, the word the other kid's called him when he beat that guy up for bullying Luna. The word that they called him for spending time with Garth when no one else would due to his abilities. The word that plagued his life for so long and for quite awhile he thought he was rid of that plague....however clearly that wasn't the case. Once again that word was back within the confines of his mind and it was the only word he had to define himself once again. His elder was right, he was indeed a monster, a monster who had no choice but to atone by protecting the beautiful island's. A monster that he almost gave his life to protect against the red phantom that haunted him at a young age. A monster who was able to find love....but a monster none the less. Try as he might Veara couldn't get the word out of his head and punch the ground as large plume of sand rose up...if he had been here things would have been much different.
But he wasn't.
He calmed down and slowly sat down curling up simply bringing his knees up and putting his hands on his face as his breathing returned to normal.
He let down everybody.
His family
His friends
The island
Kaitlin
Himself
His elder, he let everyone down.
No use trying to help the clones, he'd probably screw that up too. For now he just simply curled up in the backyard. Staying where the children were allowed to play.

Veara was never really left alone or anything of the sort, when he was on the Islands. Schwartz had kept a watchful eye over ALL of her family, and that included her husband. When the man had his bout with the 15 year-old girl, who belonged to Veara's childhood friend, went to go curl up where the kids used to play, she appeared out of the shadows cast by the moon.
His wife appeared drenched, as if she swam through the ocean with her clothing on... If only that were a joke. The reason why there were only a few casualties (few to her, at least) was because of her intervention. Unlike Veara, who could sense danger before it even happened, the mother was a bit more limited, distracted. A son, a mother, a storm. All of it happened so quickly and before the woman could realize what had happened, she was thrust into helping the people.
Water, screams, pleads for help... Schwartz hadn't heard the cacophony of horror in years. The sound was off-putting to say the least, however, she did her job as best she could. There were some lives she just couldn't save and well, the mother had to accept it for what it was. But now, there was someone else who had to accept the situation for what it was.
"Veara." Her voice came soft, sweet even, as her light footsteps upon the sand came closer and closer to the blonde. Arriving at the curled body, she stood there and gazed down at him, those inky black eyes had a strange, eerie glow to them, and water dripped from her hair. "Young adults can be harsh, if not brutally honest, can't they?"
One moment later, the woman had been dried and sitting next to the man, her eyes gazing over to the moon. A couple of blinks later and she found the words necessary. "Love, you should be out there too. Not here, sulking and wallowing in your own self-pity. What Kaitlin said... She has a point, no matter how out of line it might have been. There hasn't been anything like this which has happened in the last twenty years, but this was a giant wake-up call. Not just for me, but for you as well." The wife stated simply.
"It's time for you to start taking your position seriously. Truth be told, a lot more lives could have been saved had you been here, but you weren't. There's no point in dwelling on that, however, because it's already happened. You failed your duty. Though, I don't think its fair to the people of the island, that you stay like this. Curled up, pitying yourself, letting the failure break you down. You're 40 years old now and its time to start acting like it." While it pained her to say it, her heart jumped at the mere utterance, it had to be said. "You have been a wonderful father and I love and respect you for it, but even with them, I've noticed how you baby and coddle them. They're out there on their own, young and largely innocent, yet naive at the same time. I didn't want them to have that naivety about them, but that's in the past." A light sigh escaped her lips. "That's why I've come to the conclusion that it is indeed time for you to take your responsibilities seriously."
A brief moment would pass. "However, Veara, I also know you owe no one anything. You have been granted a power that many would kill for, and rather than be some hero, or villain, you instead became a father, husband, and a goofball. A true force of good that people seem to take for granted. Even Kaitlin doesn't understand the full detail of what you're capable of, what sort of burdens are placed upon your shoulders." Her attention came over to the man, a small smile on her lips. "Be their champion or be nothing. No one can tell you how to live. I love you so much, Veara, and because of that, I'll always be by your side. I'll always believe you had made the right decision, even if you believe it's the wrong one."

Re: Untitled
Curled up in his backyard, Veara figured as though he was in a safe space of sort's where he wouldn't have to worry about disappointing someone else or possibly being ripped on by another islander that wanted to talk the disappointment that he turned out to be. Though this didn't turn out to be the case, slowly a figure walked out of the water and Veara hearing something move through the crashing waves looked up confused about the situation. Who would possibly go for a swim this late and even more so when there's been such an horrible event. He looked up a little and the figure began to take shape as his eyes allowed him to see. No longer when his emotions consumed him did his eyes turn white, having mastered his powers long ago. When it finally took form and stood before he looked up and saw that it was his wife standing before him. She spoke his name and he flinched listening for the rest of her words, honestly with where he was mentally, he expected her to say that she was leaving him. Though, that never happened for some reason there was silence and rather then responding with I'm leaving you she simply stated that young adults can be brutally honest. He sat up and crossed his legs sitting on the sand. Soon his wife who was now completely dry sat down next to him. Though she didn't look at him and neither did he look at her, the shame that he felt preventing him from looking at her.
The more Schwartz spoke at first Veara felt his body turning away from her, however he was subconsciously doing that. As a child he would always look away from the one talking to him after an event that took an emotional toll on him. Even during his twenties this followed in the form of rustling his hair and consistently looking down even if the one talking to him was shorter then him. He closed his eyes and while she spoke honestly all he could imagine was simply the disappointment in Kaitlin's eyes from earlier. Though Veara visibly flinched when she heard him say that many more lives would have been saved if he was indeed there. So it was more then two....people drowned in the mess that was from the freak storm. She continued talking and reminded him of his age..to be honest Veara never even considered his actual age....it was kinda useless too...the only thing he really considered him now was just adult never really the age itself. Though for a moment his wife was quiet perhaps she was thinking of what to say next, however the blonde honestly didn't expect her next words. She spoke of their children...and although her words were very sweet...Veara understood exactly what she meant...his children were out there in a cruel universe naive and believing only adventure awaited them. An while his girls were in the care of the Darkson's...Meara was alone and he was somehow more innocent then the twins in certain ways. An without a doubt he was the definite reason for his son's innocence, feeling as though if his wife had trained him the way she wanted he would have possibly lost the spark in his eyes. An though he kept that spark in his eyes, Mara definitely had hardships, even more so since the child left three year's before he should have along with the others. Though his mind slowly left the though of his children as his responsibilities to the island were brought back. According to Schwartz, Veara needed to make a simple decision and that decision was simply either A. Drop the title that the islanders had given him or B. Become the Island Champion the Islanders saw him in their minds to be. Veara who was still incredibly depressed about the death's on the island had to admit that she was right...no matter what...
He had to at least get out there and help he owed the islands that at the least, especially after not being here. Veara left the confines as his mind as once again Schwartz began to talk to him. She told in a nutshell one simple thing, not matter what choice he came to in the end. She'd support that choice fully and completely. Though to be honest Veara had already made his decision earlier...and that was to simply stay their champion. He promised his elder that he would without a doubt always protect the islands.
An although his elder said him having children was a mistake.(Something he never told Schwartz)
He couldn't let the Elder down.
Standing up the man walked forward and simply nodded, never speaking a word. Although his mind was made up, he wasn't even close to okay at the moment in time. He had to push that in the back and go help clean up. Rather then making some grandiose exit or something among that line, the boy simply disappeared. Teleporting himself away from the backyard he joined one of his clones to begin the work that was needed to be done. He didn't plan on resting until at least seventy five percent of the work was done. Thanking Schwartz properly would have to wait for another time. An sooner or later....he had to make things right with Kaitlin.
