Stressed Out [Open] Empty Stressed Out [Open]

Post by Techtile Mon Sep 26, 2016 1:20 am

Falling. Swiftly. Calmly. Ever at a steady pace. There on the horizon a single light shining bright. Far away and yet in reach of so many. The warmth of it's embrace caressing with tenderness all over. Almost like a blanket being wrapped around or a sea of comfort being washed over the being. A nurturing feeling from the world itself as if mothering the people that inhabits its landscapes. What a pathetic concept. What's so nurturing about being nurtured in the first place. Nothing but a bed of false securities that mothers instill in children causing the future generation to become weak from the inside out. A load of nonsense wrapped in a sugar coated sense of fondness. A similar fondness the sun itself presents each day under the pretense of bathing the world in light for it's own protection. Nonsense, the entire idea of it.

Yet here she was. Back against stone that of which was crafted into a tower that rose higher than any other building in the entire town. The sun's own treacherous rays shining down on her as much as it would for any other. Bathing her scales in a sensation of heat that she was none to fond of herself but not adverse to either. It's light dancing across her laid out body as it subtly sunk under the cover of the town's own silhouette. The end of another day on the brink and the dawn of another darkened night well into it's arrival. Perhaps with the coming of the stars she could gain a piece of mind. Her slit pupils baring witness to the shine of stars as they would dance overheard in an array of blinks and flashes. For now her eyes remained closed to her surroundings. Her body still against the platform of the clock tower's roof ledge. A clawed foot and green tail hanging down from the edge slightly as she remained cut off from the rest of society. Even if only for a little while, there was a sense of solitary peace by being so far above the ground and in turn away from people in general.

Yes, away from the potential for unnecessary pestering. Away from the need to interact with those who only saw her for a freak. Completely free from the eyes that saw her for the abomination she was and the mouths that had nothing better to say other than monster. Up here she was free of the judgement, up here she was free from stupidity.

Lost in her own mind. A pair of pure red headphones drummed rhythms in her head. Volume loud enough to be heard from the outside if anyone could be near. A simple beat following a smooth set of electric movements and bass strings took her away in bliss. Her muzzle mouthing along with the overlaying words, faint at first but eventually loud enough that she was singing along quietly to herself. "Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days..." Every couple words cutting herself off before continuing again. "But now we're stressed out..." The melody itself was mellow and if anything poetic in it's own right. Though she would be hard pressed to admit it openly. It sparked something inside herself. If anything it fueled a weird sense of longing she had been feeling since resurfacing in this universe. A sense of longing triggered by troubling circumstance caused by her own hand. How low to sink indeed.

While the music went on her mind jumped from one thought to the next. All of them controversial to her own messed up feelings. If you could call what she was dealing with feelings to any degree. Not one for the whole emotional repercussions and response. On the rare occasion she was forced into an invisible corner from within herself. Unable to escape, unable to brute her way out of it like most things in life. It was annoying, aggravating, infuriating, confusing, and frightening all at once when it did happen. Unlike now where she was merely unsure. What to do, what to say, where to go from here. In some way her existence here was meaningless. In limbo if you will until she had an answer. An answer that within itself was a hard one to achieve.

Well, hard to achieve without him here at her side.

Why though? How could she have let this happen. Sneak up on her like a thief in the night. Seizing her mind, her thoughts, and... her heart. Damnable fool, where did you go. Her closed eyes twitched briefly as clawed hands gripped suddenly at a black tank top and black cargo pants. She needed to make sense of this fucked up situation or dismiss it already before it drove her insane. He was gone and there was no guarantee he was ever coming back. Her mistake, her problem.

"Fuck..." Trickled out between clenched fangs. So lightly it was almost a whisper. A whisper of clear desperation as she laid frozen upon the tower. Alone and left to her own internal dysfunctions. Unaware of anything lingering about her.

Stressed Out [Open] Empty Re: Stressed Out [Open]

Perpetual sunset.

It was the only time of day this world ever knew. Whether this was due to a curse, a time spell gone wrong, or something less spectacular, the energetic nobody just couldn't figure it out. It didn't help that she was a little easily distracted whenever she set out to solve the mystery either. But what could she do? It wasn't like knowing that particular detail was important anyway. While the curiosity sometimes itches, she more or less just used it as a reason to take a walk through the town. She had explored a whole lot here, rediscovering certain spots where her memories would start coming back to her in tiny little packets like water dripping out from a tiny little crack on a dam.

One particular spot was the town's clock tower, which at one point in time was left as a memorial after someone blew it up. But recently, it was re-erected. Hopefully with much more sturdier materials that could withstand the test of time and explosions. Good thing she hadn't said that last part out loud. She wasn't too sure if the citizens had gotten over the destruction that befell their town. From the accounts she heard, it sounded exciting and tragic.

Her mind wandered a little to theater. Would anyone watch a play of that event? There had to be some people. She could already imagine the drama and hardships of the characters involved. And the luck that not that many people died from the explosions and the fires that came after that, and the flood that came after that. That sounded like a solid play to her. Unfortunately, she wasn't a play writer, but she could act, that fact was undisputed!

Stopping at the base of the tower. she looked up. There wasn't much to see, but she needed to estimate where to open one end of her portal. She could use the stairs inside to get up there, but who wants to go the long way around when you can just get there with a single step?

Summoning her key-shaped staff, she tapped on the ground and a little trap door-looking portal opened up with stone frames. An identical one opened up in the sky above, about twenty feet from the tower's roof. With an excited hop into the portal, she fell out of the sky. She rarely ever took the saying "Look before you leap" to heart, and this time, it seemed as if she was going to trample on an unsuspecting individual.

Fortunately for the green-scaled would-be trample victim, Lorencia had noticed before she impacted with the individual. A clear, lightly glowing platform that resembled glass materialized over the individual. Lorencia landed on the hovering platform with no problem, however she almost immediately got down to her hands and knees to look at this strange individual. Some would say she was rudely staring, and they'd be right depending on who those people are, but she was simply fascinated at this individual's characteristics. After a quick scan of the body, she had focused on the face, and realized that she may have some explaining to do. "Hiya, lizard person!" she exclaimed with excitement. "Sorry to drop in. Didn't think anyone would be up here."
