Ku Meixiu
Name: Ku Meixiu
Age: Seventeen
Appearance: When looked upon, Ku would appear to be one of the quieter types. A soft face coupled with startling amber eyes and a warm autumn hair color, her comeliness being one kept hidden from the world, covered by rather basic and plain dresses- her hair tied up into a basic bun most of the time, held by an ornate silver pin given to her by her mother. However, every once in while she will remove the pin and let her hair run free, revealing long hair flowing down towards her lower back.
Sex: Female
Species: Somebody (Human)
Personality: Silent and Introverted would be two of the best words to describe the woman, at least to most she meets. This doesn’t mean she isn’t social- far from it as she enjoys the company- it’s more of the fact she would rather let others do the more active side of the conversation, letting her simply respond or take actions, to which she tends to communicate with the most. She doesn’t like the spotlight, but has an altruism and respect for life and honor which will sometimes lead her into brash actions, especially when it counts towards friends or family.
Heart Element: Light
Primary Elements: Moon, Lightning and Water
History: Ku was born in the world known as Land of Dragons to a pair by the names of Lung and Xia Meixiu, who were kind, if a little poor. That didn’t really stop them from setting aside money and almost spoiling the girl, especially on the father’s end, who had always dreamt of having a little girl to spoil. Of course, that led to her mother being the one to teach her right from wrong, and to guide her to what the woman believed to be the ‘right way’. This would eventually lead to the girl to become a rather quiet and respectful individual, if not before the girl began to be a little bit rebellious. This came towards balancing her calligraphy and art as well as her combative practice, something of which she pleaded her father to do.
It took a long time- four years, in fact- asking at the age of twelve, through constant declines and explanations why a young girl should be practicing her drawings instead of the art of war- even a question of why she wanted to learn how to fight. That was a question that took her the longest to figure out, after all she had to ask herself WHY she needed to know how to fight, so she went and asked her ancestors; wondered what they thought of all of this. It was then a vision of a woman leading a charge, an old legend that she would often hear- followed by a question of “Why did SHE want to learn how to fight?” from one of her ancestors, a curious little fellow. There was a long discussion between the two, the curious and exasperated woman finally asking him, “Why did she want to learn to fight?”
Ku never got an answer. Defeated, she went back home; went back to her drawing, losing some of her spirit in the process, something which disheartened her parents. So, after the fourth year, on her sixteenth birthday, her mother brought her into the room for a bit and asked her why she didn’t ask them about learning how to fight. After replied because she didn’t know the reason why should fight, her mother regarded Ku curiously.
“You wish to learn how to fight…but lack the answer of why?”
“…Yes, mother.”
A laugh.
“Then I will teach you. Later, when you finally find the reason, come to me.”
This came as a surprise to the woman, who was suddenly animated with excitement. After promising her mother to keep on practicing her art, she began her training- the art of the spear. Later, her seventeenth moon had arrived, and the woman said her goodbyes to her parents, and began her journey…
