“If the participants would please pick heads or tails, kupo!~” the fluttering moogle would say, flipping a small coin into the air.

Re: Summer Tournament: Val Noria vs Rience
Val once again tread the sands of her fairly quick victory. Her opponents before simply left right after the round started, which was a bit peculiar. She looked up to see that the sky was still cloudy, but at least it wasn't raining so much like last time. The moogle once again asked them to pick a face of a coin, and again she said, "I'll take what he doesn't."

Rain. On a good day, it was something calming to listen to. On a day like today however, it was a hazard. Again, Rience found himself staring down a nobody. It was starting to become a theme of this tournament. The heartless fighting the nobodies. It was almost comical. What surprised him was that this time, he was left to decide what she was given. As she finished speaking, Rience simply nodded. Then I shall take tails. Was all he said.

The moogle caught the coin as it fell, mumbling at the fact that its fur was getting wet. Slapping the coin on to the back of it's hand, it looked from one combatant to the other and hearing their claims on the coin. Removing its hand, it showed to them the side it took.
"Heads, kupo!~ Combatant Val has first move! Best of luck, kupo!~" it said before vanishing on a twisted warp of glittering space.

Re: Summer Tournament: Val Noria vs Rience
"Okay." Val looked from where the flying creature was to her opponent, and gave a nod. It seemed she was going first this time. Would she go on the offensive, or should she hang back a bit to study the man in front of her? The latter seemed to be favorable since she was in the dark on what her enemy could do. She held out her hand and a bow appeared, as did a portal several meters behind the heartless.
Val stepped back into the other end of the portal that opened behind her, and closed both ends so he couldn't follow. She took aim and fired a glass-like arrow that mysteriously appeared as soon as she drew the string. She did this three more times for good measure, and each time, her bow seemed to sing. While she was attacking, a spherical orb of obsidian was slowly forming behind her, growing to the size of a volley ball. This would begin to slowly revolve around the girl protectively.

- Abilities Used:
- Void Portal -- Val can summon a pair of portals that will open up anywhere on the field. She has to be able to see the destinations to summon a portal there. These portals remain open for two posts, or can be collapsed early. Number of paired portals that can be active at any one time is equal to the user's character tier.
Sentinel -- Once per post, Val can summon a volleyball-sized sphere of obsidian that initially orbits around her. These spheres are initially used for defense, but can be commanded to either ram into nearby targets, or to fly off to a far target, and violently shatter on the first thing they hit, initially doing moderate damage on impact, and slight-moderate splash damage to nearby enemies. Only five can be active at a time, but the limit increases by two every time her Character Tier is upgraded.

Re: Summer Tournament: Val Noria vs Rience
When his opponent applied the same tactic as he did against his previous opponent, Rience smirked to himself. Even though he could not track her visually, he could still sense the emptiness as it moved behind him. He simply stood there, and when her bow sang the first time..he simply vanished. He appeared a few feet behind her, pistol in hand as he fired it three times. He aimed slightly ahead of the orb of obsidian for the first shot, then below it at both knees. For good measure, he extended the area between them as well.
Interesting. Very interesting. This will be the second time in a row that I've fought a nobody. It seems to be a bit of a theme, doesn't it? He asked as he summoned Minutum Gladium into his empty left hand. She had a bow, true. That would be difficult to deal with in and of itself. Though, as long as she stuck to single shots, he could warp them away from him if it turned that he couldn't dodge them.
Space:Not:In Its Place Used: 2 post CD
Extend/Contract Used: +15 feet to the arena for 3 posts
Shots Fired: 3. 10 bullets left before needing to take a half post to reload.

Re: Summer Tournament: Val Noria vs Rience
(I'm sorry, I didn't notice you posted already.)
When her enemy disappeared suddenly, she turned a whole 360 degree to see if she could find him. She only needed to go halfway until she found him right behind her, aiming a gun. His initial shot shattered her sphere, and the fragments clinked when they hit the floor. The other two shots did indeed hit her, but they only clinked to the ground as well. They didn't even deform as expected when a bullet hit any hard surface, so it couldn't have been her knee guards.
The distance between them seemed to expand a little, unless that was her imagination. When the man spoke to her, she simply tilted her head with confusion written on her face. "You fought someone like me before?" she asked without so much as a flutter in her voice as she readied her bow. Another orb materialized behind her and continued the orbit its fallen brother was traveling on. The shards from the shattered orb floated an inch off the ground, slowly rising around the girl.
She drew back the string of her bow and fired on her opponent, the extra shards shooting out as well. As she pulled back again, and an arrow formed at the ready. A set of five darker arrows appeared in an arc above her, and were pointed at the heartless. When she fired her second arrow, the two bottom ones of the arc also fired, converging on the heartless. They had adequate spacing, optimized to cover a wide area, but left a gap that he couldn't possibly squeeze between. Val calmly walked to the side. She couldn't be in the same area for long, especially when her enemy was still fresh. So far, all she knew was that he could teleport and summon blades. It was a wonder what else he would bring to the table.

- Abilities Used:
Force Nullification -- For one post, any physical force that hits Val or any of her equipped synthesis are canceled out, effectively, and instantly, removing all force and inertia from the objects as they collide with her, and preventing them from gaining either, unless it was applied by her directly. The objects in question may be kept locked in space for a short time and treated like they were weightless until contact is broken. (CD: 2 posts)
Glass Arrow Barrage -- Val creates five obsidian arrows (number multiplied by Character Tier), each individually firing off like bullets at her command, shattering shortly after impact and dealing moderate damage. Alternatively, these arrows can be used as ammunition for bows as well, adding to the bow's damage. These arrows can be held indefinitely, or dismissed. CD: 3 posts after the last arrow is used or dismissed.
Obsidian Aspect -- Val can create, dismiss, and freely manipulate obsidian (including those produced from any skill/ability), and even give them form, usually turning them into weapons and items at will. The strength and quality are based on her Character Tier, but they are generally disposable, designed to shatter unless given a specialized purpose. (This was used to control the fragments of the shattered Sentinel)

Re: Summer Tournament: Val Noria vs Rience
He simply smirked as his opponent turned to face him, firing many arrows and shards of obsidian at him. He simply stood there, as the minor amounts of glass present in the sand quickly multiplied as they rose up around him, hardening into a dome that the arrows simply shattered against, leaving nary a crack in the dome. He had seen some of what she was capable of now. She was using what seemed to be glass. But it was not. It had a different..feel to it almost. As for his protective dome, it was thick, true. But not so thick that he could not be heard. You'll have to try harder than that to harm me.
He said simply as he pulled a second clip of bullets out of his pocket, pulling back the slide of his gun to eject the full bullet. He bent over and quickly picked it up, sliding two more out of the full clip, placing them back into the clip he was using before placing them back into the gun, cocking it back as he waited. He played it cool, but the arrows had done a bit more damage than he had expected. If he absolutely needed to, he would possess the very ground beneath them. That would be a difficult battle for her then. He was quickly strategizing, secretly praying that she would not attempt to shatter his protective dome.

Re: Summer Tournament: Val Noria vs Rience
The glass dome appeared suddenly, shielding her opponent from her arrows. She couldn't see a way to get him directly without charging in or getting too close. But she couldn't just stand there either. She decided to take a chance and attack him head on. She sent her Sentinel to crash into the dome as a smaller dome of obsidian formed around her and her arrows. Now that she was free from any prying eyes, she could reposition herself anywhere she wanted.
Out of nowhere, at the same time as when her Sentinel would have crashed into the dome, she appeared behind the heartless with her sword drawn, immediately making a downwards diagonal slash that was aimed at his back. Her arrows came with her, and with her first strike, she shot one, aimed at his spine. She held out her palm to him and a blast of powdered obsidian shot forth, with another arrow firing at his leg. A Sentinel appeared behind her and began orbiting her protectively. Should he attempt to counter, she would have used that orb to shield herself. The final arrow was eagerly pointed at the heartless' head, but was not yet fired.

The strength and quality are based on her Character Tier, but they are generally disposable, designed to shatter unless given a specialized purpose.
Under the Radar -- Supernatural and magical senses cannot detect Val.
Used:
Banishment -- All objects belonging to Val can be banished into the void and summoned back at will. Any other objects given to her are affected by this as well. (Banished Lyra, Summoned Luna)
Now you see me... -- This is a more personal version of Void Portal. Val can suddenly disappear from thin air and reappear somewhere close by, so long as she isn't being observed. CD: 2 posts
Sentinel (Shot 1, Summoned 1)
Powder Blast -- Val can unleash a blast of spikes and powdered obsidian from her palms, dealing moderate damage. (For aesthetics' sake, the amount of spikes can vary) Some of the finer powders can be carried in the wind. Inhaling the powder would cause discomfort within the respiratory organs, and deals minor damage every post for three posts, after which the powder disappears. CD: 2 posts after powder disappears.

The moogle returned to the field in a glittering patch of warped space, innocuously fluttering beside the Nobody. With one hand raised in her direction, the moogle made it's announcement. "The second round has to an end. Combatant Val has been decided as the victor, kupo!~ Congratulations!"
Val Noria wins T1: Round Two.
