Summer Tournament: Dominick vs Jensen

First Round: Dominick vs Jensen
Summer Tournament, Round One.
Location: Twilight Town; Market Place
Conditions: Late Afternoon; Humid and Clear

“If the participants would please pick heads or tails, kupo!~” the fluttering moogle would say, flipping a small coin into the air.

"I think I'll choose heads."

[Jensen]

"I'll take tails."

[Community Moogle]

With a swish of its hand, the fluttering moogle caught the coin and slapped in on to the back of it's hand in a dramatic display. Tossing back it's hand, it revealed the coin and the result.

"Tails, kupo!~ Battler Jensen has first gooo! Good luck!" it moogle said, waving a hand and blinking out of sight in a flash of shimmering warped space.

Immediately Jensen closed the distance between him and Dominik with his sword drawn, going in for a swift jab with his sword which would transverse to a momentum-filled shield-bash by jabbing the shield forward. Using this as a train-track movement, he would repeat this before thrust-kicking to end the combo. The first strike to land would inflict two applications of Moderate damage from the holyfire spread across his body from Blazing Follower which is buffed by Punish. The first strike to land would also apply the effects of Turn, allowing him to stun Dom. Before beginning the combo he would trigger his White Lion, encasing his blade in white, holyfire, applying Turn twice with the Sword's own ability and White Lion. Jensen would be exerting himself fully in order to establish the physical dominance between the two. While his speed was equal, he could use his superior agility to his advantage.

[Dominik Anatolijs]

Upon the little creature announcing that his opponent won the toss, Dominik braced himself. The opponent was going to get the first move and thus the Jer must take every opportunity to learn from the opponent. His [Zentrum Sien] gave him the first piece of crucial information, that this man’s heart aligned with the Light and his powers aligned with Fire, Electricity, and the Moon. This man also took the initiative to get close, revealing the sort of style he fought. Fighting close up means he will be facing his [Enigma], of which Jensen will no doubt be feeling the [Dissociation] starting. Yet even the most foolish of warriors know that they must be prepared to fight over a distance, so he took a mental note to watch for any long range attacks.

When Jensen threw the shield bash at him, Dominik uttered a curse as it connected.

That hurt… he thought.

With the follow up attacks, another piece of crucial information came to him.

White fire? This is some sort of Holy element. Thus this man must be a Paladin or Cleric of some sort.

He braced himself for whatever may come next, preparing to use the next opening to his fullest advantage.

Jensen would continue his onslaught, bashing his sword and shield against Dominik's body as hard as he could in a flurry that would bring down two towers standing side by side of each other. He would use his first attack to chop at Dom's outer right leg, the second to jab his shield into Dom's throat, a third bringing the sword outward and back onto Dom's head to break his concentration if possible. Unless the man had some way of defending himself during the stun, his vicious attacks would continue as hard as they could. His White Lion would provide slight increase in damage, his Blazing follower and its augment would apply to the first hit he lands. He would then finish his combo with a shield bash to the forehead assuming Dominik is still vulnerable.

[Dominik Anatolijs]

This man was quite well physically and was now laying blow after blow on him. In his stunned state, there wasn’t any way for Dominik to fight back with force, so instead he projected an Aura of [Charisma] around him. If Jensen were to keep throwing blows at him, then the [Charisma] would likely lower the amount of power behind the blows. Even with the clerics strategic strikes, the nature of the projection is basic, and no concentration was needed with his magical prowess.

Jensen would continue his onslaught, regardless of the amount of strength he lost just then. Smashing his sword and shield into Dominik's head, he would continue to apply Blazing follower and its augments for further damage. Again, he would send a flurry of four strikes, with jabs from both sword and shield. Using the moment where he was able to attack Dominik, He powerfully arched back, activating his Blue Lion, and stabbed forward to his chest as hard as he could. He wouldn't know if this was a finishing blow, but it'd allow him to apply Turn once more and deal the extra damage Blue Lion brought.

Dominik could feel the stun wear off, but the cleric still didn’t let off his attack. As he knew it was coming to an end, he tried to dodge the final blows. He managed to dive to the side, but the final blow caught him, his sword going straight through his right side and out his back. Dominik let out a pained yell and pulled himself away in a panic, and falling backwards away from Jensen and onto the ground.

A metallic taste came into his mouth. Blood. He knew this was one injury that wouldn’t heal so easily, and he welcomed this. The Jer laughed as he layed on his back, splaying out his arms.

“Yess…” he hissed out, “Verfluen finally calls for me. Send me to Him, grace me with the Death Father's presence with open arms…”

Taking Dominik's head after stunning him once more, Jensen placed the tip of his blade at Dominik's throat. Angling down, Jensen shook his head. "If your heart wasn't full of darkness, I'd pray for you. But I cannot pray for someone who'd give up faith in the all-seeing light. I hope the passing is peaceful, but you will not reach a peaceful place." Pushing hard, Jensen would inject the blade down Dominik's body and into his spine. He would then remove the blade and seal the wound with the heat of Blue Lion. Aligning the sheath within his shield and the blade, he would ritualistically sheath and walk away. Let his life be un-Caged and released into the next.

[Community Moogle]

In a glimmering warp of space, the fluttering moogle returned to the field. Upon seeing what the result of the battle was, it instinctively covered its eyes with a quiet, disgusted groan. Moving to hover by Jensen, the moogle held out a hand in his direction.

"A-And the winner is Jensen, k-kupo!~ Congratulations!"
